Mesa, AZ- Arizona Christian dropped their final non-conference match of the season 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-20) to Benedictine-Mesa on Monday.  Senior Samantha McCants produced a team high nine kills.

The Redhawks (19-7) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first set and never looked back.  The Firestorm tried to catch up but could only get as close as four.

McCants opened the second set with a kill and then Senior Brenna Bailey got into the kills act as ACU held a 3-2 edge.  After Benedictine moved ahead, Senior Haley Worden delivered back-to-back kills for a 9-7 lead.  The set went back and forth from there.  Bailey delivered another kill to tie the set at 20-20.  But the Redhawks rattled off the last five points of the set.

Bailey notched a kill to begin the third set before Benedictine secured the next six points.  A service ace from Freshman Delaney Harris and a kill from Worden made it an 8-7 set with the Redhawks still in front.  That was as close as the Firestorm would get the rest of the night.

Behind McCants, Bailey ended up with seven kills.  Worden was good for five kills and 10 digs.  Junior Hailey Settle gave out 13 assists along with recording eight digs.

On Friday afternoon, the Firestorm will play their final match of the season against San Diego Christian in Fultz Memorial Gym at 3:00 pm.  ACU will honor their four seniors before the match.
