Box Score Surprise, AZ- Already playing without some key members of the team, Arizona Christian spent much of the second half playing a man down as they fell 3-0 at Ottawa (AZ) on Thursday night.
The first 45 minutes of the match resulted in zeroes on the scoreboard. The Firestorm (7-6-1) took five shots (though only one on goal) versus just four shots for the Spirit (6-6). Junior Brian Booker recorded three of his six saves in the first half.
Only 95 seconds into the second half, OUAZ found the net for the 1-0 lead.
Less than five minutes later, ACU was given a red card and spent the rest of the game with 10 men on the field.
Arizona Christian had their chances as they fired off eight shots with four on goal in the final 45 minutes. Senior Roberto Valenzuela ended the night with a match high five shots forcing three saves.
But the Firestorm could not find the equalizer despite both teams taking 13 shots for the match.
In the 74th and 83rd minutes, Ottawa tacked on their final two goals.
On Saturday, the Firestorm will meet up with San Diego Christian at Cuyamaca College. The men are slated for a 3:30 pm start time.
