ACU Shows Off Power In Split With No. 5 Corban

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

Phoenix, AZ- Arizona Christian showed off their power with four home runs which accounted for all their scoring in a split with number five Corban.  ACU won 5-1 before falling 7-1.  Sophomore Paige Church, Junior Taylor Babbitt, Senior Chelsea Havill, and Junior Kylee Brown all homered.

Playing a day later than originally scheduled due to rain, the Warriors (2-1) scored a run in the top of the first inning.  But the Firestorm (3-3) countered with singles from Senior Bridget Kruck and Brown and Havill reached on a fielder's choice before Church deposited a three run shot (her second of the season) over the right center fence.  Two batters later, Babbitt sent a high shot down the left field line that carried out for her first round tripper of the year.

There was not a score change until the fourth when Havill cranked her first home run of the season to right center.

Senior Ashlynn Preciado (2-0) pitched around two bases loaded situations allowing just the one run while throwing her second complete game in a row.

Game two saw Corban once again plate a run in the first inning.  Brown tied the game with her first homer as a Firestorm with a drive to left center.

However unlike the first game, it was ACU that was done scoring as Corban added one in the third, four in the fifth, and one more in the sixth.

Sophomore Tatumn Porras (1-2) took the loss.

On Saturday, the Firestorm will host Embry-Riddle (AZ) at Shadow Mountain High School at 12:00 pm.
