Phoenix, AZ- The Arizona Christian University Baseball team dropped game one of the three-game series to visitor Vanguard University.  The Lions defeated the Firestorm 3-1 in the nine inning contest.

Vanguard was able to put together a three-run third inning for the early 3-0 lead.  ACU plated one run in the seventh inning but couldn't string together more hits in timely situations.

Junior Eric Schwalbe and Senior Michael Dunnebecke both finished the contest going 2-for-4.  Senior Dom Rodriguez drove in the lone Firestorm (10-18, 5-13 GSAC) run on the day.  Rodriguez ended the contest going 1-for-5 with a double and RBI.

The Firestorm left nine runners on base while the Lions (15-16-1, 12-7 GSAC) stranded six.

Junior Robert Milacki tossed seven innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four.  Milacki falls to 2-4 on season.  Junior Steven Butts and Junior River Carbone each pitched one inning in relief.  

The Firestorm and Lions will return to action on Saturday for a doubleheader at Firestorm Field.  First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am.
