Box Score Phoenix, AZ- In non-conference action Arizona Christian Baseball dropped a game to Benedictine University at Mesa 16-4 on Tuesday. Senior Jonathan Nunnally, Jr. homered twice.
The Redhawks took an early advantage over the Firestorm tallying seven runs in the first two innings. ACU plated two runs of their own in the bottom half of the third on a two-run home run by Nunnally.
Freshman Ethan Watt would drive in the third ACU run of the game in the fourth inning on a single. Arizona Christian would plate their last run of the game in the fifth inning on a solo shot over the left-center field fence by Nunnally his second of the game and number 11 of the season.
Nunnally, Jr. went 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBI. Watt ended the game going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Sophomore Cam Sharp stated on the mound tossing one inning allowing six runs on four hits. Sharp took the loss on the mound falling to 0-3 on the season. Junior Jake Rivera, Freshman Chandler McKinney, Senior Colton Wheeler, Junior Yuan (Leo) Liu and Senior Austin Bright all pitched in relief. Bright threw one inning of scoreless relief in the game.
The Firestorm will return to action on Wednesday with their final road game of the season at Ottawa (AZ). First pitch on Wednesday has been moved to 6:00 pm at Surprise Stadium.
