Surprise, AZ- ACU Baseball was defeated in a non-conference game on Thursday night.  The Firestorm dropped a game to Ottawa (AZ) 6-3 at Surprise Stadium.

The Firestorm (14-23) took an early lead in the second inning plating one run before the Spirit (18-16) used a huge five run third inning to take a 5-1 lead.  ACU plated two more runs in the fourth but didn't manage to score again in the nine inning contest.

Senior Jonathan Nunnally, Jr. went 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple, double, two runs scored and a RBI. Senior Michael Dunnebecke went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Freshman Chandler McKinney started on the mound tossing 3.0 innings allowing five runs on six hits in the loss.  Senior Colton Wheeler, Junior Yuan (Leo) Liu, and Senior Austin Bright all pitched in relief.

Arizona Christian will host Menlo College in a pivotal three-game GSAC series beginning Friday at 3:00 pm.  Games two and three will take place Saturday beginning at 11:00 am.
