• The Spirit would threaten with a rally late in the game, but it was Spencer Davis shutting down the opposition and getting the save to secure the win.

"We did a great job tonight keeping our composure after getting down three runs in the top of the first. Once again we had timely hitting and really good base running that helped us score some runs and put pressure. It was a great environment for our home opener with a lot of energy in the stadium and we are looking forward to battling for the Maricopa Cup trophy tomorrow."
