ACU Moves to 3-0 with Win over Park University - Gilbert

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Arizona Christian University women's basketball team (3-0) earned a 71-56 win over the Buccaneers of Park University - Gilbert (1-1) Tuesday night inside the PHHacility.

 

Thoughts from Coach:

 

After the win, Head Coach Rusty Rogers stated, "All things considered, I thought we played pretty well.  Having been off for 26 days with only three practices, you'd expect to see the inconsistencies and lack of conditioning that we saw.  We gave it everything we had and I believe our depth really paid off!"

 

Game Details:

 

The win gives the Firestorm a winning record against the Buccaneers all time (2-1).  ACU shot 27-64 (.442) as a team from the field and held Park to 21-62 (.339) shooting.

 

ACU opened the first period on a 15-6 run and never looked back as the Firestorm would take a 16-point advantage into the intermission, 40-24.  The Firestorm would increase their lead to as many as 22 points in the third period en route to earning the 71-56 victory.
