Offense Comes Alive Against Spirit

Phoenix, AZ- On Friday, Arizona Christian faced off against rival OUAZ in a double header for the first two of the four game series. The Firestorm would erupt for 21 combined runs in both games, however would split the pair of games on Friday, winning 17-1 in game one and losing 10-4 in game two.

  • The Firestorm would immediately take 2 runs in the first innings, breaking their 16 inning scoreless streak. 

  • The offense would really get going thanks to a 5 run 4th inning that was started with a Cohen Heckethorn (SR/Prescott Valley, AZ) double that would bring in 2 runs. 

  • Trevor McGee was once again masterful, allowing 3 hits in 6 innings of work.

Inside the Box Score

  • The game was tight until the 5th inning where Brett Aker (SR/El Mirage, AZ) would struggle a little bit to get out of the inning.  

  • From there, the Firestorm could not rebound, allowing a total of 9 runs from the 5th inning on.

  • The Firestorm offense did not have an answer for the Spirit's scoring spree, and would ultimately fall in the contest.

        The Firestorm will conclude the four game series with OUAZ with a double header tomorrow.
