Playoff Picture:

ACU needed to sweep both games of its regular-season finale to advance to the GSAC championship series, but were eliminated with the pair of losses.  OUAZ (20-21; 9-7 GSAC) won the GSAC East crown and will compete for the GSAC Championship next week against a team from the GSAC West yet to be determined.

Game One:

Neither team scored through the middle of the eighth inning, but with the ninth inning looming, The Master's plated two runs in the bottom half of the eighth en route to earning the 2-0 shutout victory.

Despite not scoring in game one, the Firestorm finished with nine hits, led by Justin Ramirez who went 3-for-4.  Ramon Miranda and D'Marcus Guillory each added two hits, and Justen Burkey and Manny Villa each had one hit.

ACU starter Sergio Heguertty (2-3) went 7-1/3 innings and allowed just one run on six hits with three walks and five punchouts.  Reliever Anthony Defrancesco pitched the final two-thirds innings and allowed one run while striking out two.

Game Two:

ACU's offense continued to struggle in game two as they mustered just six hits to score two runs, both coming on a pair of solo shots by Alec Ortiz, who finished with two RBI and two runs scored.

Burkey went 1-for-3 with a double, and Damien McElroy, Griffin Swan, and JD Hamby each added a hit.

The Firestorm used eight different pitchers in the season finale, and they combined to allow six runs on five hits with three walks and eight strikeouts.  Andrew Hirsh (2-4) suffered the loss.

Thoughts from Coach:

After the games, Head Coach Joe McDonald simply stated, "We win forever."
