Box Score 2 Glendale, AZ – The No. 23 ranked Arizona Christian University baseball team (18-12, 7-7) fought hard but dropped the second doubleheader against No. 7 Westmont College (26-2, 15-1) as they lost the first game 16-4 and fell 10-7 in the second game on Saturday afternoon at Glendale Community College.
Series Notes:
With the losses the Firestorm record against Westmont falls to 11-28.
Game 1:
Chase Martinez (2-2) got the start and took the loss pitching 1 2/3 innings while allowing five runs on five hits while striking out one and walking two. Griffin Swan led the Firestorm's offense going 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
The Warriors jumped on the Firestorm early as the scored two in the first and three in the second to take a 5-0 lead. The Firestorm battled though as they pulled run back in the bottom of the second on a single by Frias to make it 5-1. The Firestorm would score another run in the third to cut the deficit to 5-2. The Warriors would answer with 11 runs over the next six innings as they took a commanding 16-2 lead going into the bottom of the ninth. After two singles and a hit by pitch loaded the bases Swan would come through with a single to left to score two runs and make it 16-4 but that would be all the Firestorm would get as they dropped game one.

Game 2:
Jackson Hohensee (1-3) took the loss pitching 1 2/3 innings while allowing four earned runs on three hits while striking out two and walking two. Oliver Frias led the Firestorm's offense going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
The Warriors once again jumped ahead early as they took a 7-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning. The Firestorm didn't give up as they fought back in the bottom half. With one the Firestorm put runners on second and third and got onto the scoresheet as Frias ripped a double down the left field line to make it 7-2. The Firestorm would then load the bases with back to back singles before Garcia took advantage of an error to bring another run home to make it 7-3. The Firestorm would then score two more runs on a dropped pop up to pull back within 7-5.
The Warriors would answer though as they put another run on the board in the sixth to push their lead back to 8-5. The Firestorm didn't give up the fight as Garcia delivered a two out double down the left field line to cut the lead to 8-6. Durazo would then rip a single into left to draw the Firestorm within one at 8-7. That would be as close as they would get though as the Warriors tack on two more runs as they went on to win 10-7.
