Box Score Durango, Colo.- On the strength of a team game record five interceptions and an individual game record three interceptions by Jordan Francis, Arizona Christian rolled 52-12 over NCAA Division II Fort Lewis on Saturday.
Joining Francis in the pick party was Antonio Horrison and Riley Tucker. Defensively, the Firestorm held the Skyhawks to 191 yards of total offense thanks in part to their five sacks- two by Moses Smith and Christian Threadgill and a combined sack by Ben Strawn and Kenyatta Kendrick.
Offensively, the Firestorm enjoyed a shorter field most of the game thanks to the defensive turnovers and favored the run just a little more than the pass (36 rushes, 27 passes). Aidan Quinn used his team high 64 yards to blow past 2,500 career yards rushing. Tyrese Gholar added 38 yards and a touchdown. Through the air, Tyler Duncan and Quinn Commans tossed four touchdowns while connecting with nine different receivers. Duncan surpassed 6,000 career passing yards.
Nestor Higuera tied his own school record with a 49 yard field goal.

Thoughts from Coach Bowen
"To be completely honest, as a football program we were embarrassed by our efforts in week one. I thought our guys worked extremely hard this week to get our swagger back. They practiced extremely hard and the coaching staff did a great job getting them ready. It showed on the field. We dominated in every phase of the game. Now we just need to work on a few more things and get ready for a Louisiana Christian."
