Firestorm Unable To Overcome Cold And Orediggers

Butte, Mont.- With snow on the ground surrounding the field and freezing temperatures, Arizona Christian was unable to overcome NAIA ranked number 23 Montana Tech on Saturday.

AJ Sibley made his presence felt offensively with 181 total yards including 120 on the ground and a receiving touchdown.  Tyler Duncan connected with eight different receivers.

Christian Rodriguez set a new school record with a 94 yard pick six touchdown.  Jackson Ortiz topped the team in tackles.

  • The first Montana Tech drive of the game was the longest of the day as they went 16 plays for a TD
  • After MT went up 14-0, Jalen Davenport punched in a TD from a yard out to cap an 11 play drive
  • Duncan connected with Sibley from 14 yards out to get ACU within seven
  • Rodriguez tipped a ball to himself at the A06 and was off to the races down the right sideline for the tie (Moses Smith wiped out two with one block on the return)
  • Abiel Lepe delivered a field goal before Dowdy collected a TD pass and ACU was within three with 4:50 remaining
  • Three minutes later, the Orediggers put the game out of reach with their final TD

Up Next
The Firestorm will be home for their season finale against Rocky Mountain on Saturday.  The weekend will be homecoming and Senior Day for Arizona Christian.
