Coach Rutter's Thoughts
"Another big week as we are in a tight race with three weeks left to go. Our guys are working hard and we want to keep focusing on improvement as we get ready for Vanguard and Life Pacific. Vanguard beat us pretty soundly just a few weeks ago so we need to do a much better job of being tough, making good decisions, and playing for each other this time around."

"Life Pacific is one of the better shooting teams in the NAIA. Defensively, we will have to be locked in as they are explosive."

Arizona Christian
On Saturday, the No. 4 Firestorm (19-4, 10-3 GSAC) overcame the Hope International Royals after a hard-fought battle.  Paul Hayden led the Firestorm with a career high 29 points and Mikah Blackwell poured in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Trent Hudgens and Dennis Flowers III contributed 8 points and 5 rebounds apiece along with huge free throws to close out the Royals.

Series Notes
The Firestorm have gone 6-4 with the Lions in the last 10 matchups.  ACU however has the upper hand at home as they are 8-2 when they defend home court.  The Lions defeated ACU in their last matchup 84-76.
 
When facing the LPU Warriors, ACU has been dominant with a record of 9-1 over the last 10 games.  The Firestorm hold a seven game win streak over the Warriors.
 
Vanguard
The Lions (11-9, 5-7 GSAC) lost to Jessup at home 74-66 on Saturday.  In a losing effort Garrett White led all scorers with 19 points and Isaac Davis posted 17 points with six assists.  The Lions are tied for seventh in the GSAC standings, one game behind Menlo for the sixth spot.
 
Life Pacific
On Saturday, the Warriors (8-12, 1-11 GSAC) lost to Menlo 98-60 on Saturday.  Austin Cook poured in 26 points in the effort.  Life Pacific will play at OUAZ on Thursday.
