Inside the Box Score

In the First game of the double header ACU squeaked by on a close, high scoring game, winning 14 to 13. The Firestorm got two home runs from their power hitting left fielder Marques Titialii. After a back- and-forth game, the Firestorm in the ninth inning got an RBI single from their right fielder Daniel Durazo bringing in second baseman Brandon Lees. Then in the bottom of the ninth, Riley Quinton shut the door for the Firestorm. The win would go to Bear Pinedo who went three innings giving up two runs. With the win, the Firestorm would get their fourth win of the year against a top 25 ranked team and their first victory against the Vanguard Lions in two years.

In game two of the doubleheader, the action would be very different than the high scoring first game of the double header. Eli Elliott got the start for the Firestorm, and he threw a quality start, giving up just two runs in six innings pitched. But Elliott would still get the loss, has ACU was held to only one run. Titialli would homer yet again for his ninth homerun of the year. In the end ACU would lose the rubber match of the Vanguard series, 2-1.
