Inside the Box Score
In their first game since receiving a top 20 ranking from the NAIA, ACU Baseball looked to back that number up in tonight's game. The Firestorm offense picked back up, tallying nine hits as a team on the day. Porchas, Swan, and Daniel Durazo all recorded multiple hits. After heading into the 9th trailing a run, Porchas stepped up with a clutch 2 RBI double to take the lead. Elliott stayed true to form in his outing tonight, tossing four no-hit innings and slammed the door shut in the bottom half of the ninth to secure the win. ACU snaps the three game skid, and got in a great game before taking this weekend off from competition.
Thoughts from Coach McDonald:
"We faced adversity early on but showed great resiliency as a team. Tonight was a good game to get back into the win column."
Next for the Firestorm
Following the weekend break ACU will host Embry-Riddle (AZ) at Glendale High School for a mid-week matchup on Tuesday, March 21st. First pitch is scheduled for 7 PM.
