Though the final scores of both games may not show it, ACU got two great performances from the starting pitchers Santa Cruz and Elliott, who both went 6+ innings. On the day the Firestorm only had to use five arms, which could be a good advantage going into tomorrow's series-deciding game. On the offensive side, the top of the order continued to be a factor, with the first four batters combining for 13 hits in both games. Leaving runners on base is what proved to plague the Firestorm, with the offense leaving 22 baserunners stranded in today's double header. Hohensee will likely take the mound tomorrow for ACU, and if game three wasn't a must-win for the Firestorm before, it certainly is now when looking at ahead to the conference tournament.
