Costa Mesa, Calif.- With their sweep of Vanguard on Saturday, Arizona Christian locked up the two seed in the upcoming GSAC Championships.  The wins also gave the Firestorm their first 30 plus win season for the first time since 2019.

• Vanguard used a home run to get on the board in the first
• The Lions scored again in the fifth for a 3-0 lead
• Buckley walked, Miles singled, and Schleisman walked to begin the sixth
• Two errors allowed all three to score for a 3-3 tie
• Bell doubled home Hipolito and Alto who reached on the errors for a 5-3 edge
• A sacrifice fly in the seventh accounted for the 5-4 score but Smith retired the next batter for win number 19

Inside Game Two

• Buckley stole home in the first to open the scoring
• Vanguard tied the score at 1-1 in the third
• Lawson held the Lions scoreless the rest of the way for her tenth win on the year
• In the sixth, Terzakos and Buckley singled to begin the inning
• An error allowed Terzakos to score before Alto singled Buckley and Hipolito scored on another error
• ACU scored three runs on just one hit in the seventh (Schleisman RBI single)
• Although they could potentially end up in a tie in the standings, ACU owns any potential tiebreak for the two seed

"Proud of the immense improvement the past two seasons.  Earning back-to-back trips to the GSAC, securing the two seed, and improving our win total is a product of a lot of hard work and dedication on the part of this team.  Extremely proud of our poise and competitive drive this weekend.  We won in all three phases pitching, offense, and defense today.  Great team effort!"

Arizona Christian will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday when they play at OUAZ.  The Firestorm and the Spirit will play at Willow Canyon High School with first pitch at 4:00 pm.
