Arizona Christian

Its April, and baseball is in full effect. Major League Baseball is underway, and we are now in the last month of regular season baseball in the College area. At this point ACU Baseball is 23-12 in total play, 9-6 in conference play, is ranked number 25 and has just 13 games left in the regular season. Today, they head to Santa Barbara California for a double header on Good Friday and one game Saturday against #11 Westmont College. In the total history of this series, Westmont has dominated the series winning 28 games and only having ACU win 11 times. Last year, Westmont swept the four games series against ACU from dominant Westmont pitching. Since last year, Westmont has seen two of their starting pitchers get drafted. Arizona Christian has been hitting well, having good outfield defense, and pitching the ball great as of late, but if they want to win this series, their infield defense needs to be stronger. In their two losses last week, ACU had 11 errors, all coming from their infield. Big history happened last week for ACU, as Justin Ramirez broke the all time ACU hit record. So now that he has that past him, hopefully his teammates Marques TItitalii and Enrique Porchas can continue to hit the cover off the baseball and drive him and on-base-machine Daniel Durazo in. Griffin Swan has been big for this team lately as well, as he hit his second homer of the year last week. All in all, it should be an exciting series this week.
