GSAC Second Half Begins On Thursday

Glendale, Ariz.- On Thursday, the second half of Golden State Athletic Conference play will begin as Arizona Christian hosts Jessup.  Menlo will be in the ACU Events Center on Saturday.  If the second half plays out like the first half (three teams tied at the top including the Firestorm), it could be a wild finish in the race for first.

In the latest poll, Arizona Christian was voted number 16 in the NAIA with their overall record of 16-5 and 5-2 in GSAC action.  On Saturday, the Firestorm won a wild 119-111 triple overtime game at Hope International.  Paul Hayden became the 18th member of ACU Men's Basketball 1,000 point club with a 33 point effort.

Series Notes
In the first round of GSAC action, Jessup beat ACU 84-72.  The win for the Warriors snapped a 13 game win streak for the Firestorm in the series.  Arizona Christian holds an 18-9 all-time record against Jessup.

The Firestorm are 11-7 all-time against the Oaks thanks to a current four game streak.  Earlier this season, ACU won 68-64 in Atherton.

Jessup
The Warriors are tied atop the GSAC with Arizona Christian and OUAZ thanks to their 5-2 conference record.  Overall, they are 14-6 on the season.  On Saturday, they beat The Master's 104-76.  Myles Corey had a game high 26 points on his way to GSAC Player of the Week honors.

Menlo
On Saturday, the Oaks (15-5, 3-4 GSAC) beat Life Pacific 76-66.  Landon Seaman delivered 26 points and 10 rebounds against the Warriors.
