New Season, Familiar Foe

Jordan Francis and the Firestorm are ready for Saturday
Glendale, Ariz.- The 2024 season has finally arrived for Arizona Christian Football against a familiar foe in Fort Lewis- the only opponent the Firestorm will face each of the last three years.  Excluding the 2020-21 COVID season, a September 14 start date is the latest ACU football has ever started a season.

The Firestorm hold a 2-0 all-time lead against the Skyhawks after a 49-25 win in Glendale last season.  In the high altitude of Durango, Arizona Christian is 1-0 following a 52-12 win in 2022.

"September 14… That is a long time to wait to play your first game! The players and the coaching staff are excited to get this year started.  They have worked extremely hard, and they look forward to showing their hard work on the field on Saturday against Fort Lewis."

The Firestorm are looking to return to their winning ways after a tough 2-8 record in 2023.  A good mix of returners and newcomers makes the Firestorm feel like they are ready for the 2024 season.

Fort Lewis Football
The NCAA Division II Skyhawks dropped their season opener two Saturdays ago 35-20 against William Jewell.  Waker Stone threw for 141 yards and ran for 160 yards with two touchdowns.  Jacob Penney produced nine tackles.
