Firestorm Trying To Keep Saints From Marching In

Glendale, Ariz.- On Saturday, Frontier Conference Divisional play will get under way as Arizona Christian University hosts Carroll College.  As the conference divisional games are the games that officially count in the conference standings, the Firestorm will attempt to keep the NAIA number 17 ranked Fighting Saints from marching into the win column.

Series
The teams have previously met twice with Carroll winning both matchups.  With additions to the conference and the shuffle to divisional play, Arizona Christian is hosting Caroll for the second season in a row.

ACU Coming Into Game
Last Saturday, Arizona Christian held off Mayville State 21-20 to earn their first win of the season.  Josh Bell passed for one touchdown and ran for another score.  Ty Cole fought off several would-be tacklers to punch in the other touchdown.  In the fourth quarter, Max McDowell recovered a fumble at the ACU two yard line and Jakwon Lamb iced the game with an interception in the final minute.

The Firestorm have run more plays than their opponent 185-176.  ACU has had unheard of success when deciding to go for it on fourth down as the Firestorm have converted seven of eight opportunities (87.5%).
