A Saturday Split, A Series Win

Glendale, Ariz.- On Saturday, Arizona Christian and Park Gilbert split their doubleheader.  But paired with the Firestorm sweeping Thursday's doubleheader, ACU won the season series while playing as the visitor on their home field.

  • The Buccaneers scored a run in the first and second
  • ACU found the scoreboard in the third when Miles scored on an RBI bunt single by Herrera
  • After Park scored another run in the fourth, the Firestorm plated two in the fifth
  • Henry doubled home a pair of pinch runners- Hailey Wackowski and Christina Grubb
  • But Park produced four runs in the bottom of the fifth that proved to be the difference
  • Bradford came home on a fielder's choice for the final 7-4 tally

Inside Game Two
  • A two run first inning was highlighted by a Lauko RBI double and Herrera RBI single
  • Park pulled off a double steal to score in the bottom of the frame
  • Back-to-back triples by Grubb and Henry scored three of the five runs in the third
  • Sandwiched between single runs for Park, Grubb scored on Miles sacrifice fly 
  • Butcher allowed two runs in the seventh before closing the door for her sixth win of the season

The Firestorm will return to being the actual home team when they host Simpson for two on Monday.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
