ACU Struggle Against #6 Azusa Pacific

Glendale, Ariz.-  The Firestorm struggled against a dominant #6 Azusa Pacific team and lost 7-0 in a competitive match.

  • The No. 2 pair of David James Brownlee and Brody Bohren set the tone with a 6-3 win over Petar Wemmenhove and Fenosoa Rasendra. 
  • Azusa Pacific's No. 1 team, Elias Emilio Walter and Soeren Grandke, followed with a 6-4 victory against Hugo Abril and Lennert Lemahieu to clinch the doubles point.

Thoughts from Coach Carlisle
"We knew today would be tough. APU is probably the best team we'll see all year, but we competed really well and gave them a lot of tough matches. I'm extremely proud of the guys for the way they played today and excited to see us take on Hope tomorrow."
