Firestorm Lead But Swept By Redhawks

Mesa, Ariz.- Despite leading in both games on Saturday, including a grand slam in the first inning of game two, Arizona Christian could not hold off Benedictine Mesa in either game and were swept.

  • The Redhawks plated the next seven runs for a 9-5 edge
  • In the seventh, Elena Garcia walked, Lauko sacrificed her home, and Landeros scored the last run of the game
  • A five RBI game by Lauko is the tenth time that a Firestorm has accomplished that feat (six RBI is the individual game record)

Next week, the Firestorm will hit the road for a California road trip- their final road trip of the regular season.  Their first stop will be at La Sierra for two games on Friday.  First pitch is set for 12:00 pm.
