Surprise, Ariz.- On Saturday, Arizona Christian STUNT concluded their season by competing at the GSAC Championships hosted at OUAZ. After a loss to Hope International, ACU faced off with OUAZ and for the first time in program history the Firestorm forced overtime- not one but two extra rounds.
Versus OUAZ playing an eight-round game, ACU came out of the first quarter of Partner Stunts with a 2-0 edge. Following the conclusion of the Pyramids & Tosses second quarter, the Firestorm headed into overtime with a 4-1 advantage.
After a ten-minute halftime break, the Spirit edged the Firestorm 1-0 in the Jumps & Tumbling third quarter to create a 4-2 ACU score. In the fourth quarter, OUAZ forced a tie with a 5-3 score.
The first round of overtime, which plays like the fourth quarter, resulted in neither team earning a point. OT round two saw ACU claim the point in the Pyramids & Tosses, but OUAZ take the Partner Stunts and Jumps and Tumbling points to claim the win.
Head Coach
