Glendale, Ariz. — The No. 5-ranked Firestorm earned a morning sweep before falling in their afternoon match on Saturday at the ACU Beach Volleyball Courts.
Match 1: Arizona Christian 5, Justice 0 (4,2,5,3,1)
Arizona Christian Firestorm opened the day in dominant fashion, sweeping Justice University 5-0.
ACU controlled the dual from start to finish, winning all five completed courts in straight sets.
Match 2: Wayland Baptist 3, Arizona Christian 2 (2,4,3,1,5)
In the afternoon dual, Wayland Baptist (RV) edged ACU 3-2 in a tightly contested matchup.
ACU picked up points in pairs 4 and 1:
- 4: Robles/Nelson won 21-11, 21-17
- 1: Fellens/Casner won 21-15, 21-14
Wayland Baptist secured the dual with wins in pairs 2, 3, and 5, including the pivotal battle in fives (24-22, 21-9).
The Firestorm moved to 6-5 overall following the split.
