Vanessa Burwick was signed on as the ACU Beach Volleyball coach in August of 2023.
Burwick worked as an assistant coach at Concordia University Irvine for the past two years, as she earned a master's degree in business in June 2023. While an assistant coach at CUI, Burwick had the opportunity to coach alongside volleyball giants Jenny Griffith and April Ross. In April 2023, Burwick helped the Golden Eagles to a third-place finish at the NCAA Division II Nationals.
In 2019, Burwick stepped into her first coaching position with One Beach Volleyball, where she engaged with female juniors between the ages of 8 and 18. In addition to assisting with local practices in Arizona, she traveled to California for her junior's tournaments.
Before landing in the coaching world, Burwick competed on CUI's beach volleyball team from 2018-2022, finishing her collegiate career as a graduate student. Her final season ended with the Golden Eagles making an appearance in the semifinals of the AVCA Small College Championships and posting an overall record of 22-6.
As an undergraduate at CUI, Burwick received her bachelor's degree in graphic design in 2021.
Coach Burwick is a native of Gilbert, Arizona and graduated from Williams Field High School in 2017, where she played varsity volleyball for three years.
In December 2023, Burwick married her best friend Nathon.
Outside of volleyball and coaching, Burwick enjoys photography, hiking, reading and thrifting.
