Coach Vande Zande joined the ACU staff ahead of the 2020-21 season.  Prior to ACU, Vande Zande coached college or high school basketball and taught middle school English for over 20 years in Wisconsin.  As an assistant coach, he helped Edgewood College advance to the NAIA Division II National Tournament.  Vande Zande made coaching stops at Pardeeville High School, West Bend West High School, and West Bend East High School (last 15 years before ACU).

Educationally, Vande Zande earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1984.  In 1996, he added a teaching certificate from Edgewood College-Madison.

Coach V and his wife, Carrie, have been married since 1994 with two grown children- Ben and Meredith.  Away from the basketball court, Coach V enjoys swimming, running, and playing golf.  Coach Vande Zande wrote and published his first book “For Such a Time as This” which is the story of the 2021-22 ACU Men’s Basketball season.
