2016 (JR)- Helped the Firestorm win their first Golden State Athletic Conference Championship… Earned All-GSAC and All-NAIA Scholar Athlete honors… Started 53 of 54 games… Batted .302 while driving in 31… Hit 16 doubles with three homeruns … Went 4-5 against Vanguard University with a double and homerun
2015 (SO)- Started all 49 games for the Firestorm… Hit. 358 and was second on the team with 10 home runs, 40 RBI, and 50 runs scored… Produced 16 doubles and a 5-5 effort stealing bases... Hit by a pitch six times
Prior to ACU- Played two years at the University of Southern Mississippi under Head Coaches Jon Malgradi and Kirsten Voak… Started 46 of her 48 games played as a sophomore… Hit .263 with six doubles, a triple, and home run… Scored 20 runs while driving in 14… Started 13 games as a freshman… Had three doubles and three runs scored… Season was cut short due to injury- received medical redshirt
High School- Spent senior year at Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek, AZ, where she did not play softball… Three year varsity player for Fairmont Preparatory Academy in Anaheim, CA, for Head Coaches Jeffrey Eskridge and Pete Morado… Three time First Team All-San Joaquin League and team MVP… As senior, hit .698 with 10 home runs and five doubles… Scored 29 runs with 27 runs driven home… Once threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts in five innings while hitting two homeruns… Also played soccer and volleyball… Three time All-San Joaquin League in soccer
Personal- Parents- Wayne and Kelly Nelson… Sisters- Morgan, Makenna, and Malia… Chose ACU- Because she loves the communications department, the professors, and the ability to grow in her walk of faith… Enjoys coaching softball, going on hikes, painting, scrapbooking, and films… Dreams of becoming an event planner… Major is communication with an emphasis in broadcasting and a minor in business administration.
