Brian Bell

Brian Bell enters his second season as head coach of the men's and women's track and field teams at ACU. 

Coach Bell has an extensive background as a coach over the past 20 years. He has held coaching positions at the club, high school, university and USATF Elite levels. His athletes have successfully competed at the state, conference, region and national elite levels. Most recently ACU athletes that he helped coach have been selected as GSAC All-Conference athletes, have won conference championships and competed at the NAIA National Championships. In 2023 he was a finalist for the Mike Lusardi Leadership Award for demonstrating ACU's Core Values while leading athletes to success on and off of the field. He holds coaching certifications with USTFCCA, USATF and the Lydiard Foundation, has participated in numerous coaching seminars and is an avid student of professional journals related to performance improvement.

Coach Bell was born and raised in Oregon, 45 minutes from "Tracktown USA". He has had a lifelong love for track and field, going back to his days as a member of the Salem Track Club at nine years old, as a long sprint/ middle distance runner at South Salem High School and eventually competing internationally while serving in the United States Marine Corps.

Bell graduated from Park University in 2009 and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in business management. The following year, he obtained an MMS from Marine Corps University.

Bell and his wife Dawn have been married for 35 years and have been blessed with seven children (Austin, Andrew, Samuel, Georgia, Lilian, Joseph, Julia) and three grandsons. They have devoted their lives to serving others through sports, youth, military and disability ministry. Most recently, Coach and Mrs. Bell have led discipleship groups on the campus at ACU and in their local neighborhood.
