Dr. Mickey Kerr was appointed Faculty Athletics Representative at Arizona Christian University in July 2024. As a member of the faculty at ACU, Dr. Kerr is a Professor in the Department of Business Administration and in the process of helping to develop the Sport Management major.
Although Mickey began his career at ACU in July of 2023, he has a unique blend of seasoned experience in higher education after a 32-year career at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. He served at UMHB in various capacities in intercollegiate athletics and academia. His roles in intercollegiate athletics have included Vice President for Athletics and Head Baseball Coach. Dr. Kerr’s academic career began as an Instructor and progressed in faculty rank to Professor. He was promoted to Associate Dean of Exercise & Sport Science, served as Faculty Athletics Representative, and was responsible for developing both the Bachelor of Sport Management and Master of Sport Administration degrees.
Dr. Kerr earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where he was a starting pitcher for four years. He has a Master of Business Education from West Texas State University and a Doctorate in Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy.
Mickey and his wife Dee live in Cave Creek and together have been blessed with four children, along with five grandchildren.
