ACU Women?s Tennis Improves To 10-0

La Mirada, CA- The ACU Women's Tennis team improved to 10-0 on the year with an 8-1 win over Biola on Saturday to end a three match swing through Southern California.  Senior Iulia Marcenco lost just two games on the day.

Beginning with action in doubles, Marcenco and Freshman Tia Okano easily rolled with an 8-0 win.  The Firestorm (10-0, 4-0 GSAC) won the other two doubles matches 8-5 and 8-2.

In singles play, Sophomore Mikayla Morgan won 6-1 and 6-1 followed by a 6-1 and 6-0 win for Junior Lauryn Sullins to give ACU the team victory.

Okano produced duplicate scores of 6-2 and 6-2 in her win on court three.

Senior Desiree Jackson cruised 6-2 in her opening set on court one.  But Biola's Madeline Herr made Jackson work a little harder in second set though Jackson still prevailed 6-4.

On court four, Marcenco won with scores of 6-1 and 6-1 but Susan Carmichael forced their match to be the next to last match playing on the day.

The final match playing was court five.  Senior Desiree Curiel won the opening set 7-5.  But BU's Kelsey Post responded by winning the second set 6-0.  In their supper tie break, Post won 10-6 to earn the only point on the day for the Eagles (3-8, 2-3 GSAC).

The Firestorm will return home to host San Diego Christian on Saturday.  Their match is scheduled to deliver the first serve from the Phoenix Tennis Center at 12:00 pm (AT)/ 11:00 am (PT).  The Eagles will host Palm Beach Atlantic on Monday at 4:30 pm.
