At halftime, the match was tied 0-0.  Vanguard scored in the 68th minute before adding a late insurance goal in the 87th minute.

The Firestorm were outshot 28-9 but shots on goal was only 7-4 in favor of Vanguard

COACH BELLEMAN SAYS…

"It was a great game today, they had more of the ball and I thought we created some very dangerous chances.  We made a couple of mistakes in the back and a good, experienced team like Vanguard will make you pay for it.  We responded well again after giving up the goal and just weren't able to put one away.  It was a great, learning opportunity for us and we will be ready to take our chances the next time.  Now we get ready for senior day against a very tough Westmont team next week."
 

NEXT TIME OUT

Next Saturday, Arizona Christian will host Westmont in the regular season finale with another chance at the GSAC Championship for the Firestorm.  The ACU seniors will be honored before the contest.  Kick-off is set for 1:30 pm at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex.
