Firestorm Return Home For Warriors and Oaks

Phoenix, AZ- This weekend, Arizona Christian Women's Basketball returns home to host William Jessup and Menlo on Thursday and Saturday.  ACU, WJU, and MC have all been in and out of the NAIA Top 25 rankings this season.

"The Firestorm face two tough competitors coming in from Northern California this weekend. Both teams are or have been ranked in the NAIA, both teams have played well in the GSAC, and it will be a very competitive weekend."

 

Arizona Christian

The Firestorm (13-6, 6-1 GSAC, ranked 24) swept Life Pacific and Hope International last week in California.  Courtney Christmas scored 22 points at HIU.  Jada Willingham added 20 points.

 

ACU Key Players

Courtney Christmas- 21.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.2 steals

Makayla Enders- 16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds

Jada Willingham- 12.1 points, 2.8 assists

Toni Davis- 9.8 points, 2.9 assists

 

Series Notes

ACU has won the last two meetings and own a 5-3 overall record against the Warriors.  Against the Oaks, the Firestorm are 3-4 after the teams split last year.

 

William Jessup

The Warriors (13-5, 4-3 GSAC, receiving votes) split their action last week- losing to #5 Vanguard and beating San Diego Christian.  Lily Hagerty scored 14 points against SDCC.  Liz Gehweller added 11 points.

 

Menlo

The Oaks (13-4, 4-3 GSAC, ranked 13) swept San Diego Christian and #5 Vanguard last week.  Destinee Bowie delivered 31 points and 21 rebounds against Vanguard.  Menlo will face OUAZ on Thursday evening.
