Box Score Atherton, CA - The Arizona Christian University women's basketball team (15-4, 5-3 GSAC) came from behind to edge out Menlo College (8-7, 3-5 GSAC) 77-75 as they ran their record winning streak to ten games on Thursday evening at Haynes-Prim Pavilion.

After the game, Head Coach Rusty Rogers said, "Again, really impressed with our composure and resiliency. Most teams across the country, including Menlo, are dealing with unusual circumstances but our ladies have been able to overcome that plus the huge deficits we have faced. Our squad has really come together in troubling times with different ladies coming up big at crucial times. It's been a fun 10-game run!"
Game Details:
Despite committing a season low ten turnovers the Firestorm struggled to find a rhythm early as they trailed the Oaks 20-14 at the end of the first quarter. The Oaks continued their momentum in the second as they raced out to a 33-17 advantage midway through the quarter. The Firestorm didn't give up though as they closed the half on a 14-5 run to narrow the Oaks lead to 38-31 at halftime. It was the Firestorm's turn to seize the momentum as they opened the third quarter on a 14-2 run led by eight points from Alyssa Alvarez to take the lead. The Oaks though fought back to tie the game 53-53 as the game headed to the final quarter. Once again the Oaks took the lead but the Firestorm came from behind to take a 74-72 lead on a layup by Baylee Slaughter with :17 seconds left. From their the Firestorm sunk several crucial free throws as they held on for a 77-75 victory led by 30 points from Alvarez.
