The Firestorm got off to a slow start, not scoring their first bucket until five minutes into the game, but after that it was a steady stream of points from everyone, all over the floor. ACU headed into halftime down by just five points, but the third quarter was a defensive display for the women's basketball team. The Firestorm out-scored the V-Hawks by 13 points in the second half, highlighted by Alvarez's 17 points in the 4th quarter alone. ACU secured their first win outside of the ACU Events Center this season and climbed one game closer to .500 on the year.
Next for the Firestorm
Following the Christmas break the Firestorm will take on the Benedictine-Mesa Redhawks in their second battle of the red-birds this season. That game is scheduled for December 30th, tip off at 1:30 PM in the ACU Events Center.
