Inside the Box ScoreÂ
Looking to steal their third straight win from a ranked opponent on the road, ACU had their work cut out for them before they even took the field. Eli Elliott made it through the first three innings relatively unscathed, only allowing a solo homerun, but the Pilots would tack on 10 runs in the next three innings to put this game nearly out of reach. This ACU offense can't be kept down for long however, as they quickly came back with 5 runs of their own in the top of the 7th. After the first two batters reached safely, Brandon Lees singled through the right side to score them both. Later that inning the bases would be loaded following a walk and a single from Griffin Swan, while Marques Titialii continued his incredible offensive surge this season, doubling down the left field line to clear the bases. Oliver Frias notched his first home run of the season in the top of the 8th, but that would put an end to the Firestorm scoring for the day. ACU drops their second game of the season but will return home celebrating an overall successful weekend.  Â

Next for the Firestorm
ACU will return home to host the Firestorm Invitational, in which they will face off against Midland (Nebraska), British Columbia (Vancouver) and Park-Gilbert. That tournament will be held from February 8th-11th, and all ACU home games will be played at Glendale High School.   Â
