Firestorm Invite Opens With Win Over Warriors

Glendale, Ariz.- Swan and Porchas' multi-RBI performances helped the Firestorm bounce back into the win column.

Firestorm baseball has been off to a good start to their season. The team has gone 6-2 in their first eight games. On Wednesday, Coach McDonald's squad started off the Firestorm Invitational against the Midland University Pioneers. On the mound for the Firestorm was Adrian Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz would immediately get support from his offense with the Storm bringing in five runs in the first by RBI hits from Marques Titialii and Enrique Porchas. Adrian Santa Cruz would go 6 innings giving up just one run. The firestorm offense would get 7 more runs and give up two different two run home runs in the 8th . Evan Heib would close out the game giving Santa Cruz his second win of the year making the Firestorm 7-2. ACU's next home game will be this Friday against the University of British Columbia at 6:00. Next for the Firestorm

The Firestorm Invite Continues tomorrow with ACU heading across town to take on Park-Gilbert.  ACU Baseball will return to Glendale High School to host the University of British Columbia on Friday, at 6 PM.
