Inside the Box Score
The Firestorm offense yet again proved that they can only be contained for so long. After falling to a 2-0 deficit in the first, ACU grinded out their first run in the fourth by way of Porchas' first extra base hit of the day; a double that scored Titialii. From there both teams went back and forth scoring a run in their respective half-innings until the bottom of the 6th when Chase Martinez took over on the mound and quickly dealt with the Bucs' offense. Durazo's homer in the 7th put ACU on top 5-4, but Park wouldn't go away without a fight, and got a run back in both the 7th and 8th innings. Both teams got through the 9th inning knotted up at 6 runs apiece, but the Firestorm offense stayed true to form in the 10th. After quickly loading the bases Durazo stepped into the box and delivered a clutch double down the right field line to bring everybody home. Porchas then stepped into the box and put this game out of reach with his second home run of the day, putting ACU up 12-6. Riley Quinton slammed the door in the bottom half to earn his second win of the season, and move the Firestorm to 8-2 on the year.
