Women's basketball picked up a big win tonight over the Warriors, backed by Alvarez's 22 points. After a slow first quarter from both teams, the ACU offense picked up the pace in the second quarter, outsourcing the Warriors by 8 points. Halfway through the quarter Alvarez rattled off three straight three pointers, then secured a steal and assisted Gunn on a fast break before Jessup could call a heat check timeout. It was an 11 point run for the Firestorm that pushed the lead out to 7 at the half. Shooting dipped in the second half, with the Firestorm shooting 0/12 from behind the three point line. Jessup retook the lead at the start of the 4th quarter, but Alvarez scored 6 more points to put her over 20 on the night and put the Firestorm back in the lead. ACU secured their eighth conference win of the season.
