Inside the Box Score

When a record for a team is broken, one would hope that it comes with that team winning the game, as it makes the record-breaking moment more sweet. But for Arizona Christian Baseball, though having a good year, both when Justin Ramirez broke the all-time ACU hit record last month, and today when Marques Titialii broke the single season homerun record with his 14 th homerun of the season, those record-breaking days came with an unfortunate loss. Today the loss came with Hope International University going through eight ACU pitchers and scoring 23 runs. ACU was able to score 13 runs but that was still outscored by ten HIU runs. Though Jackson Hohensee (the ACU starter in this game), has been good this year, he wasn't his best today giving up 6 hits and 5 walks in three innings pitched. The rest of the staff didn't perform to their best either, with nearly every reliever giving up at least one earned run. Marques Titialii and Enrique Porchas had the best games for ACU at the plate, with each getting two hits. All in all, it was great for Titialii beating the ACU single season homerun record, but it would have been sweeter if it had come with a Firestorm victory.

Next for the Firestorm

Hopefully the team will be able to turn it around tomorrow, as they finish the HIU series with a double header at Glendale high school starting at noon.

Roll Storm!
