Glendale, AZ. - Had a shot to win, but didn't finish. The Firestorm had a rough first half, giving up 28 points. ACU's secondary gave up 349 yards passing with 4 touchdowns. Arizona Christian's moved the ball well, but sputtered late in the game. Senior linebacker Travis Combs, recorded 10 tackles. Senior Safety Jordan Francis had 5 tackles and Senior cornerback Griffin Meier had 7 tackles in a struggle in the pass game.

QB Johnny Herrera and Freshman QB Beau Devens had the Mountaineer's defense on skates all of the first half. Sophomore running back Charles Ennis, Jr. had a impact run game to try to keep ACU in the fight. ACU's receivers made a couple of key catches to keep the drive going. Another impact night from Freshman receiver Trey Brown and Sophomore running back AJ Sibley in the pass game.

The turning point of the game was that in the fourth quarter, Eastern Oregon free kicked (punted) a 40 yard to the ACU 40 yard line, after an ACU safety.  But ACU fumbled the ball and EOU recovered  at the ACU 42 yard line.

• 1:25 minutes left in the second quarter, EOU - Malachi Spurrier completed a 41 yard pass from Quincy Glasper (Elia Kirisimas kick) 8 plays, 75 yards that extend the lead 21-17
• Fast forward to the third quarter with 4:10, EOU - Malachi Spurrier catches a 45 yard pass from Quincy Glasper (Elia Kirisimas kick) the drive 4 plays for 75 yards. EOU took the game out of reach 35- 20 
• The last score EOU was with 4:33 left in the game, EOU - Waylon Riedel  runs in a 1 yard touchdown (Elia Kirisimasi kick), that was a  2 play drive, for 21 yards to make the final score EOU 48 - ACU 22

"I'm proud of the guys, they battled in all phases of the game. If we eliminate a few errors, we would have a chance to win the game. We will continue to work hard and get better."
