Glendale, Ariz.- On Friday night, Cami Mercado became the all-time leading scorer for Arizona Christian Women's Soccer with a four goal effort against Justice College. A few new individual records were also created. Two team records were broken or tied as well- shots in a game and goals scored- in the lopsided win.

- The peppering of the goal started early as ACU took five shots before the match was ten minutes old
- Underwood turned a 1-2 volley combo with Mooberry into the first goal
- History was made when Mercado swiped the ball from a Justice defender and slotted a shot into the lower left corner
- Her first goal gave Mercado 30 career goals surpassing the 29 goals of Marisa Ortiz (2016-17)
- Mercado cashed in two more goals before Barron gave a ACU 5-0 cushion headed into the break
- The Firestorm out shot the Lions 31-1 in the first 45 minutes
- Three plus minutes into the second half, Mercado scored her fourth goal of the match and seventh goal of the season
- Reaching fourteen points on the season moved Mercado into all-time points tie with her former teammate Irene Ledezma- both now at 54 career points
- ACU never stopped shooting as Barnett, Peroff, Mobo and Torres capped the goal scoring
- In the end, ACU fired off a program match high of 71 shots to break the previous mark of 67 set in 2018
- A ten goal team effort tied created a three way tie for the most ACU WS goals in a match
- Twelve shots by Peroff and Cline upped the 11 shots taken by a player in a game (accomplished four times) as the new record
NEXT UP
On September 19, the Firestorm will host Park-Gilbert to begin GSAC action. It will be the first meeting as conference rivals for the schools in the newly rebranded GSAC (now Great Southwest Athletic Conference).
