Five Time Champs Begin GSAC Competition On Saturday

Glendale, Ariz.- The GSAC portion of the Arizona Christian Men's Basketball season has arrived as Benedictine Mesa will be coming to the ACU Events Center on Saturday. For the Firestorm, the defense of their five time GSAC championships begins with Saturday's game.

Arizona Christian
The Firestorm head into GSAC action with a record of 12-2 and ranked number four in the NAIA. On December 21, Arizona Christian held off NAIA number 14 ranked Morningside 79-75. Arik Nicholas topped the Firestorm with 21 points. As a team, ACU is averaging 81.5 points per game.

The Firestorm are 14-0 against the Redhawks. Last season, ACU edged BENU 77-73 with Howell going for 15 points and nine rebounds. Saturday will be the first meeting between the teams as conference rivals.

Benedictine Mesa
The Redhawks enter GSAC play with a record of 11-3. On Wednesday, BENU beat Mount Royal 78-72. Damian Zivak scored 16 points. Emad Elniel added 14 points and eight rebounds. Benedictine Mesa is averaging a GSAC best 93.9 points per game.
