Fast Start Powers the Firestorm Past Park Gilbert

Glendale, Ariz. –  Arizona Christian wasted no time seizing control, striking for four first-half goals on their way to a dominant 4–0 victory over Park-Gilbert.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Firestorm came out blazing, scoring three times in the opening 15 minutes to set the tone for the evening. 
  • Tahnee Scheuchl opened the scoring in the 10th minute with her first goal of the season, giving ACU the early lead. 
  • Less than a minute later, Krista Hardesty doubled the advantage off an assist from Ella Barron, then added her second goal of the match in the 14th minute with Scheuchl providing the helper.
  • Barron capped off the first-half barrage in the 24th minute, finding the back of the net for her first goal of the year and extending the Firestorm lead to 4–0.
  • From there, the ACU defense locked things down, holding Park-Gilbert to just one shot on goal for the match. 
  • Goalkeeper Brenna Sonsini recorded one save en route to her second clean sheet of the season.
  • ACU finished with an 11–9 shot advantage, including 8–1 in shots on frame, while limiting the Buccaneers' scoring chances despite facing six corner kicks. 
  • ACU won the game, 4-0.

On Saturday, the Firestorm will travel up north to Prescott, AZ and play against Embry-Riddle at 5pm.
