Surprise, AZ – The Lady Firestorm traveled across town to the home court of OUAZ, and a despite a strong fourth quarter effort, they fell to the Spirit 66-59.
After scoring 17 first quarter points and holding a three-point leading going to the second, the Firestorm was only able to muster 15 points over the next two quarters, and digging a hole, of which, they would not be able to climb out despite a furious fourth quarter rally.
In the fourth the Firestorm pulled within three points with 52 seconds remaining after
Alyssa Alvarez hit three free throws, but the Spirit stood tall from there. The Spirit went a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line in that last minute and prevented the Firestorm from scoring the rest of the way.
The team was led in scoring by Alvarez who scored 13 points.
Emily Till recorded 15 rebounds to go with 9 points of her own.
