The Firestorm Shuts Out Dickinson State

Glendale, Ariz.- ACU dominated Dickinson State with a commanding 9-0 victory on Tuesday night. The Firestorm took control early, scoring in each of the first four innings and never looking back. While the offense put up early runs, ACU's pitching staff dominated. Starter Jordan Vickers was stellar, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out four. The bullpen followed suit, combining for five more shutout innings and striking out eight.

  • In the bottom of the first inning, Ivy scored on the throwing error. ACU led 1-0. 
  • Later that inning, Tarver scored on a wild pitch. ACU extended their lead, 2-0.
  • With two runners on base, Ivy hits a bomb to right field, earning three RBI after bringing in Edmonds and Beckworth. ACU extended their lead, 5-0 in the bottom of the second inning. 
  • Kiaunis also scored on a wild pitch in the third inning. ACU extended their lead, 6-0. 
  • With bases loaded, Kiaunis gets hit by a pitch and earns an RBI. 
  • Later that inning, Garcia singled up the middle, driving in two runners. ACU extended their lead, 9-0. 
  • DSU held ACU from scoring after the fourth inning, keeping the score the same for the rest of the game. 
  • ACU won the game, 9-0.
