The Firestorm Dominate In Doubleheader Against Park Gilbert

Glendale, Ariz.- ACU put on a dominant performance in their doubleheader against Park Gilbert, sweeping both games in commanding fashion.

In game one, the Firestorm wasted no time asserting their dominance, erupting for six runs in the first inning and never looking back. ACU capitalized on Park Gilbert's defensive miscues, scoring early with a combination of timely hitting and aggressive baserunning. Jared Anderson and Sean Garcia led the charge with multi-hit performances, while Matthew Beckworth drove in four runs, including a two-run double in the fourth inning. The Firestorm piled up 15 hits and took advantage of four Park Gilbert errors. On the mound, Frank Wierman was stellar, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out six batters. ACU closed out the 19-1 victory with a clean defensive effort.

The Firestorm continued their winning ways in the second game, this time relying on a dominant pitching performance from Eastyn Culp, who went the distance in a three-hit shutout, striking out 13 batters. ACU broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning when Jaylen Edmonds scored on a fielder's choice. The Firestorm tacked on four more runs in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run double from Kane Kiaunis and an RBI single from Trey Tarver.
