• In the first quarter, the Firestorm's defense quickly gave up two goals. Soon after, the Firestorm scored a goal. Long Beach led 2-1 after the first quarter. 
• After some offensive changes, the Firestorm scored another two goals. ACU's defense also allowed two goals. The score was 4-3 at halftime. 
• The Firestorm finally got some momentum going, as the team scored 4 goals, one of which was from Blake Smith on an excellent fast break. The score was tied 7-7 after the third quarter. 
• In the fourth quarter, the game went back and forth. LBSU scored two goals and the Firestorm responded by scoring another two goals as well, tying the game 9-9 at the end of regulation. 
• In the first two quarters of overtime, the team's went back and forth but no team could come out to score. 
• In triple overtime, Kale Parthen won a sneaky faceoff and ran all the way to score the game winning goal. 
• ACU won 10-9 after three overtimes.
